I’m not sure what type of advertising venue you have, but you may want to contact the end user like the marketing department of companies who would do the advertising.
As far as an ad agency, depending on the size of it, you want to seek out the account executives. They are the one’s who work with the clients and they will be the ones who most likely find the advertising mediums.
So, call the ad/marketing agencies and ask to speak with an account executive.
You can create your samples and submit as portfolios to advertising agencies. If you need a lit of agencies in your area, you can check Yellow pages or search in the internet for local listings.
Within an advertising agency the person you will want to speak with is the Media Director. Since you are selling ad space, the media director is the the head of the media department and oversees all functions of the media department which includes managing the media planning team. The media planner on each account within the agency is the person that decides which mediums are best for their client’s objectives. If an agency has a media department it would be best to go straight to the top and the media director will either take the meeting directly or direct you to a media planner that would have in interest in your ad placement space. If the agency is small and they do not have a media department, then you should speak with the account executive. If they are large enough and if you go directly to the account executive, they will in turn have to pass you information along to media and it would get lost.
