I had an error in the link in the last question.
We have been open for 3 months and only gotten a couple of graphic design jobs. We have had NO real web design. We are frustrated because we’re highly capable and feel our prices are extremely fair. We’re trying to figure out if we need to “personalize” it more, make it less corporate feeling if it is so. Do away with ads on pages. Any Ideas? Also We’ve done some advertising on craigslist, scriptlance, we have plenty of traffic because the other owner and I have LARGE communities where we drive traffic to it on a regular basis. However, noone is biting. We even posted in our newsletter a referral program stating if someone recommended us to a friend they’d get $50-$100 based on the job. So what’s the deal? What do you have to do to get a job, and are other web designers out there having this problem right now? The website is http://www.ideatreestudio.com Thanks – will really appreciate any help and objective opinions.
we’re not trying to advertise on yahoo answer – this is a place to ask an objective opinion from people. We want to know if there’s something off with our page that someone could recommend we fix. The first time we asked, we said ‘do you like our site’ – 3 months later, we’re saying “why isn’t it working”

IF YOU CAN TEL ME HOW I CAN GET MORE TRAFFIC TO MY WEBSITE I CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO DO AND IF YOU THINK I AM PLAYING YOU BETTER THINK AGAIN CAUSE WHEN I AM SERIOUS I AM VERY VERY VERY DEAD SERIOUS!!!
THIS IS NO TIME TO BE JOKING RIGH NOW!!! I ONCE AGAIN HAVE TROUBLE LINKING TO YOUR SITE IS IT SPLEED CORRECTLY?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
CAUSE I AM NOT KIDDING
JUST INSTALL YOUR COMPUTER AS SUGGESTED ON ANY ONE OF THE YOUTUBE WEBSITES BELOW AND YOU WILL NEVER EVER BE SORRY AT ALL
OR
Your website looks good…
I think you need more personal networking to get your business growing. People are most comfortable working with people they know and are familiar with. Get involved in your local Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, etc. Volunteer to do web work for a charity organization or two. People will only recommend you if they KNOW you. Good luck!
I have checked your website its good and attractive.
But I think you are making one mistake a big one.
Why are you waiting for users to find your website and place an order.
Why don’t you enter the big market and compete with all other web-designers.
Think Big!!! Think Business!!!
Check out the link below and I am sure you will be able to run good business.
Best Of Luck
Hard one.. I Was the same. Your website is excelent! very attracive and good colour scemes and very easy to navigate. What happened to me was I finally got one order to make a website, the ustomer was pleased with it and his customers asked who made the website because it was good. He told them and they decided they wanted one and it went on and on like a tree and now I have a weekly flow of customers and making some good profit! Just hang in there and keep advertising and once you have got one you are set! The thing that really will help is going to the local industrail estate or shop area and pop in and have a chat and show them what you can do and then leave a leaflet with them to get back to you. I do that now and it works a treat! the key to it is being very freindly and not harrasing them into it but be very efficent and nice and I can promise you, you will get some good orders! Try it, Good Luck! Also I started by doing the local charity event banners and website for free and everyone wanted to know who made them and you will get 100’s of customers from that! be community minded…
Pretty much all you need is time – 3-5 years. You’re not going to get a stand-alone (not connected with a name brand) web-based business going full steam in 3 months. If your only advertising is your site, you’re doing well to get a few jobs in 3 months.
Advertise in the local ad sheet (Penny Trader, etc.), the local newspaper, the local radio stations – anything that’s within your means. It’ll get you a lot more early business than your site. (The domain name could use some work too – I have no idea what you do from the name.)
Try sharing links with other unrelated businesses. Some people claim that search engine position depends, in part, on how many sites link to yours. It may be true and, if it’s done on a sharing basis – you link to me and I’ll link to you – it can’t hurt. (I wouldn’t pay for links, though.)
This is the 3rd time I have seen this site on here this is not the way to get it out.
Try Submit Wolf
This isn’t the place to advertise
In order to “personalize” it a bit more I would add an “about us” section, let people know more of what you’ve done and why you’re qualified.
